Paula West was the first bride who came to me for an exclusive eco-friendly affair.
She and her then fiancée, Todd Minnis, would marry on the sandy shores of Riviera Maya in an intimate celebration celebrating–among other things–their love of travel.

Paula’s invitation suite consisted of cotton and post-consumer papers, elegant silk-screen envelope liners, and soy-based inks. The crowning touch was an exquisite envelope liner, which so perfectly set a visual tone for the elegant festivities that awaited each guest.

Once we knew the direction of the invitation set, our next order of business: create a monogram. Paula chose a monogram design that complimented the feel of the Riviera, and would fit perfectly later for personal touches aro

This past Friday marked two month's time since the devastating earthquake pummeled Haiti. Since then, more disasters have stretched humanitarian resources beyond what they can handle. Still, efforts continue because of amazing people who we will never meet or have the privilege to thanks personally. We give what we can when we hear about a crisis, then we move on.
For me personally, it's always a challenge to stay involved and give back. Charities, ministries, fund-raising–all these take a time and commitment that may be too weighty for young professionals juggling work, home and family already. Not giving, however, just doesn't sit well. So while I hope you'll reach out, take a moment, or sacrifice something you may simply want in order to pass along a larger gift; I hope you w

When graphic designer-turned-yogi, Allison Vieger decided on the details for her wedding to her beau, musician, Taylor Vieger, her vision was clear: minimal bliss.
The gown she chose was a stunning Angel Sanchez with a beautifully embroidered bodice. The location, the Dallas Museum of Art. When it came time for the invitations, we had much to live up to. Allison’s idea of using the embroidered detail from the front of her dress as an icon for the evening was perfect.

A big fan of Sanchez gowns, I was bent on finding the right mix of simplicity and elegance. Allison and I worked on the design together. I made the crest and she resolved the layouts. Her choice of black and white (colorless impression) was a perfect compliment to her sophisticated affair.

It is easy for me to tell you to write letters, send a thank you, invite with paper…write often. It could be perceived a bit self-indulging given my situation. Beyond that, however, wherever you purchase your paper, I hope you will take a moment to write. I rarely reference my personal blog, as it serves mostly for family and friends, but I would be remiss to pass an opportunity to be personal about something that, at it's core, is such a personal gesture, even in its professional applications. Writing, more so than typing, speaks volumes.
I don’t reminisce over emails or texts, but finding a letter from years ago will always make me pause. So make an appointment with yourself to stop and write to someone. I promise, just that small gesture will go a very, very long way

Bell'Invito bride, Natalie
Erwin, came to us with a very special request. Her wedding would be simple
and elegant. She envisioned massive beautiful frames capturing the beauty of
nature in the garden surrounding their ceremony, and wanted her invitation to set
the tone for the visual story.
I met the beautiful Natalie Erwin in my store
in Dallas. She was an accomplished artist at an early age, and we were hosting
her in our art gallery as
the featured artist for the summer.
The challenge was set to
create something beautiful for an artist with clear vision. I designed a few
frames, hoping we were headed in the right direction. Before long we
had a lovely creation that was made just for Natalie and Ryan.
It's always a thrill to
see your own design carried over into other

After a day of obstacles, I finally arrived in NYC on the
latest possible flight. I am ready to watch the new Bell’Invito collection come
to life. Sunday morning, Buyers will see the new pieces for the first time.
This little Batik frog was one part Polynesian inspiration
(are you ALL getting married in a
tropical paradise these days?) and one part childhood memory.
I grew up in Houston, Texas. As far as I know, there aren’t
many of tree frogs in the subdivision I called home. Nevertheless, one found
its way in through the front door and onto the dining room wall. I watched
curiously, all of 9 or so years old, as the pretty strange thing stared back at
me. Eventually my dad captured the wayward little guy and sent him packing, but I remained
curiously enamored wit

I love the koi design from the 2009 collection. Thankfully, so did you! So much, in fact, this season we've extended our fine friends into a new color way, being revealed next week in NYC.
In the meantime, I ran out of stationery. Of course, just in time for the rush of January brides and much needed thank you notes to go out from the holiday gift fest. Finally, my place in the printing line came up. Here's some shots of my new writing sheets. And as a Pisces–how fitting!

When DWeddings producer Jamie Laubhan Oliver and stylist Jan Jones
contacted us for D's recent editorial spread on table settings, we were
more than happy to oblige. This particular feature was for the Marie
Antoinette tablescape. Set in an outdoor European Garden, the place
setting was brought to life with inspirations of robins egg blue Sevres
plates, a coordinating Italian cotton tablecloth, pastel macaroons, and
splashes of color from pink and yellow botanicals. Our Bell'Invito teal
chandelier table cards completed the setting for the outdoor soiree
with calligraphy from Boo Owens. Read more here.
