FAQs

Q:
Why is two color printing so much more expensive than one color printing?
A:
Letterpress method requires only one color is printed at a time. This means for each color, a separate die plate is made, the machine must be washed and set, and the paper must be fed and pressed one at a time, running more paper for the first color to ensure that there are enough good prints for the second color’s run to be completed. In short, a second color is essentially another job printed on the same paper.
Q:
What makes Bell’Invito's quality different that other letterpress printed products?
A:
With a hand-fed letterpress product, you want several things: To understand this you should first know that, historically, leaving an impression on the paper was a sign of sloppy printing. Printers wished only to kiss the paper so they the ink was lying flat on the surface. Today’s letterpress method in growing popularity has required the exact opposite from the vintage technology.
