Hot Collaboration

August 05, 2009
"Designer guru Don Carney has long been known for fine lines, from the vintage-look accessories company he co-founded, Patch NYC, to gallery-worthy ink drawings, laboriously made with eyedroppers and brushes to evoke woodblock prints. Now Don does Dallas. Heather Wiese-Alexander of local letterpress studio Bell'Invito befriended Carney over the course of several New York gift-markets (and a few nights out on the town), and a collaborative was born. The result is Bell'Invito's 2010 Don Carney Zodiac Collection, featuring the designer's hand-drawn zodiac signs on everything from correspondence cards (12 edged notecards with lined envelopes, $120) and a desktop calendar with ebony display stand ($195). Orders are being taken now and pieces begin shipping next month-perfect timing for fall's social whirl."
